How We Price Moving Work
Every Milestone job is priced job-by-job, off a free written estimate. There is no hourly rate, no membership to join, nothing to sign up for before we can tell you a number. You describe the move, we survey the home – in person or on video – and you get a single written price for the specific job in front of you. That number is binding. It doesn’t rise on move day, it doesn’t change at the ramp, and it doesn’t shift because the scale reads differently than expected. You see the full price before anyone lifts a thing, and that is the price you pay.
What a Visit Actually Costs You to Find Out
Nothing. The estimate is free, and there is no obligation attached to it. We walk the home – or you walk us through it on video – and we look at what actually needs to move: the furniture, the packed rooms, the awkward staircase, the piano in the corner. The visit typically takes less than an hour. At the end of it, you have a written quote for the full job. You are under no pressure to book on the spot, and saying no costs you nothing. The point of the visit is to make sure both of us know exactly what the job is before either of us commits to it.
When People Usually Call Us
The busiest stretch in this trade runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day. School calendars end, leases turn over, and closings cluster. Families who plan ahead book six to eight weeks out during those months, and the earliest slots fill first. If you are moving in June or July, calling in April is not too early.
Month-end dates stay busy all year. Most leases expire on the last day of the month, so the final weekend and the first weekend of any month are the hardest days to get on the schedule, regardless of season.
Winter is the easiest time to book – fewer competing moves, more flexibility on date and crew. Dale Whitmore has been doing this work since 2006, and his standing advice is the same every year: book the move before you shop for boxes. The move date is the hard constraint. Everything else adjusts around it.

Do you offer financing or a monthly payment plan?
No, and that is deliberate. Milestone prices each job off a free written estimate – one number, one job, confirmed before any work starts. There is no financing product, no installment plan, and nothing to apply for. If you have questions about what your specific job will cost, the estimate visit is the right place to start.
Can I combine two offers?

Does the price change once you arrive?
No. The written estimate is the price. If we arrive and find something that was not part of the original survey – an additional room, access that wasn’t disclosed – we stop, explain what changed, and re-quote before touching anything new. You approve the revised number or we proceed only with the original scope. No surprises loaded onto the invoice at the end.
